We want to create puros that pay respectful tribute to the long, vaulted history of handmade vitolas, honor the dedicated works of all the vegueros, torcedors and artists who dedicate their labors to this timeless craft. Our goal is to always offer the connoisseur an unparalleled smoking experience bar none.

Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust’s cigars have all been rated exceptionally high including at the very top of hundreds of annual lists and we are the only maker to have been named the “Company of the Year” for 4 Consecutive Years by the Halfwheel™ Consensus.
It all begins in the fertile fields of lush, green fragrant leaf nutured by the sun, soil, rain and the hands of many. In addition to our own fields, we work closely with all of our vegueros across the globe growing unique hybridized seeds exclusively for us.
Each leaf is treated with the utmost care and attention. Our cigars are handmade from the finest and often, the rarest of naturally fermented black tobaccos grown, aged to perfection. No corner is ever cut or expense spared in our desire to craft the very best.
Only the most experienced torcedors with the greatest skills are given the task of handcrafting our cigars. Attention to detail, consistency and precision are always employed. While it is impossible for any handmade cigar to always be perfect regardless of cost, we never cease in our effort to make it so.
All of our marcas are carefully crafted at the legendary Joya de Nicaragua, S.A. and Nicaragua American Cigar, S.A. factories located in the heart of Estelí, Nicaragua under the direction of our founder. We have dedicated teams of craftspeople at both fabricas whose sole focus is to handcraft our ligas daily.
Our ligador and catador de puros, Steve Saka, demands the most exact standards be honored at all times. Regarded as a cigar expert throughout the industry, he is credited as being an experienced cigar maker, a prolific author regarding cigars and black tobaccos, a forefather within the online media segment and a dynamic tobacco industry executive. In 2000, he worked directly for Lew Rothman, the former owner of JR Cigar, as an executive consultant for four years and he subsequently served as the President, then CEO of Drew Estate from 2005 through 2013. In 2015, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by establishing the family held Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust to craft cigars without any compromises.
